Braywood Friends

Home/School Links

Parents are their child’s first and most enduring educator. At Braywood we aim to encourage and guide parental involvement in their child’s education. A school works more successfully if it has the support and understanding of the parents. This can be achieved through an ‘open door philosophy’ where parents are involved in practical and dynamic ways in the school activities; the curriculum and the welfare of their children.

A newsletter is sent home on a regular basis which contains news about school events, activities and other things of interest.

Open evening/afternoons and/or Parent Interviews are held at least once a term. These are formal opportunities for parents to discuss a child’s progress with the teacher. If there is a concern the class teacher will be happy to see parents at other times by appointment.

Home and School Association

The school has a thriving Home and School Association. Various social and fund-raising events are held throughout the year. Parents feel it offers a positive means by which they can contribute to the school and help provide some ‘extras’ for the children.

It also helps to promote a good Home/School relationship.

All parents are automatically members of the HSA. A committee is appointed each year and volunteers are always welcome
